Chauncey I. Brown III is the Founder and Executive Director of the National News Media Network (NNMN), an independent digital news organization dedicated to breaking news, fact-based reporting, and transparent journalism. Born on October 30, 1962, Brown is a lifelong public servant whose commitment to community leadership spans more than four decades. Raised in Paterson, New Jersey, he attended Paterson Public School No. 26, became a Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1980, and pursued higher education in business, public policy, emergency management, and educational leadership.

Brown's dedication to public service was influenced by both of his parents. His father, a World War II veteran, was a respected civil rights activist who served as President of the Paterson Branch of the NAACP while also operating Chauncey TV, an electronics and television repair business. His mother’s compassion, support, and encouragement inspired Brown's lifelong commitment to serving others, instilling in him the values of leadership, civic responsibility, and community service that continue to guide his work today.

Public service became the cornerstone of Brown's career. In 1982, he was appointed to the Paterson Board of Recreation, later serving as President. In 1991, he joined the Paterson Fire Department, eventually rising to the rank of Fire Captain in 2005, becoming only the department's fourth African American and second Native American Fire Captain. During this period, he also served as a 9/11 Ground Zero first responder, which reinforced his commitment to public safety and emergency preparedness.

Brown's dedication to education led to his election to the Paterson Board of Education in 2002, where he later served as Vice President and President, achieving recognition as the first Certified Master Board Member (MBM) in the board's history through the New Jersey School Boards Association. He became an advocate for educational excellence, public accountability, and effective governance at county, state, and national levels.

Throughout his career, Brown has also been an entrepreneur, establishing several businesses focused on consulting, construction, financial services, and professional development. These ventures deepened his expertise in leadership, public administration, business strategy, and organizational management.

Brown's journey into journalism began through his public service experiences. In 2018, while campaigning for Mayor of Paterson, he paused his campaign following his mother's Stage IV breast cancer diagnosis. She passed away just before the municipal election on May 27, 2018. Rather than disengaging from public life, Brown founded Paterson on the Web, an independent platform where mayoral candidates, City Council members, community leaders, and residents could discuss pressing issues facing the city openly. His mother watched every live broadcast until her passing, making those early discussions especially meaningful and laying the groundwork for his future in independent media.

Building on this experience, Brown established the National News Media Group in March 2019 to create a platform for public officials, political candidates, business leaders, subject-matter experts, and everyday Americans to engage in essential discussions about the issues shaping the nation. The organization quickly evolved into a nationally distributed podcast network offering programs on politics, government, business, elections, and international affairs.

Recognizing the demand for breaking news and real-time reporting, Brown launched the National News Media Network in June 2024 as the dedicated digital news division of the organization. By December 2024, the transition from National News Media Group to National News Media Network was finalized, establishing NNMN as its primary public-facing brand.

Today, the National News Media Network publishes original reporting across various editorial desks, including Breaking News, National News, World Affairs, Policy Watch, DOJ Action, Market Watch, Election Watch, Technology, Weather Watch, and Podcast Journalism.
